DARIO OTERO
Dario A. Otero was born in the beautiful central mountain region of Puerto Rico in the town of Utuado. His family moved to New York City when he was two and so his formative years were spent in the city. The fond memories from summer vacation trips to his grandparents’ farm in Puerto Rico remain with him today and have catalyzed his continuing quest to capture the beauty and color of the “Island of Enchantment”.
Dario’s passion for photography began at age 10 when he received as a birthday gift, a box camera. During his teenage years, he avidly took pictures of family and friends. His eye for subject and composition were honed in those early years of photography. Later in his college years, Dario’s raw talent was noted when he was selected as an assistant to the renowned New York photographer, Alan Goldstein. Mr. Goldstein subsequently became Dario’s mentor. What he learned working with Goldstein, later became the foundation for striking out on his own. Dario undertook further formal training in photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC where he studied under Irving
Schild.
Dario is presently retired from a 26-year career as a Senior Research Chemist in the pharmaceutical industry. He offered professional photography services during that time and is still an active professional. His training as a scientist intertwines with his photography in the sense of driving him towards perfection.
For many years Dario was a member of the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs and the Metropolitan Camera Club Council of NYC where he served as a photo competition judge and lecturer. He has taught photography at a private school in Pennsylvania. In addition, he has served as a mentor for other professional photographers. Dario holds membership in several professional photographic organizations and is currently an active member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Professional Photographers Association.
His passion for photography has now expanded to share what he has learned with other photographers through workshops, and to offer his unique vision of the beauty of his homeland with his gallery, “Images of Puerto Rico”, to see the island through his eyes.

JOE SUKENICK
Joe Sukenick has been a
photographer for most of his life. With the advent of
professional digital photography, his artistic talent
limited by the constraints of film, and what could be accomplished
in a darkroom, emerged in a way that fully allowed his artistic vision to
be realized. "The creative possibilities now
available when working with professionally captured digital images
appear to be endless!", he says.
Joe is retired
from a 30 year career with IBM where he worked in an engineering capacity
in the field. He owns and operates DigiQuest Photography and
DigiQuest Computer Consulting in
Bartonsville, PA. His photography business consists of
portraiture, weddings, headshots and advertising. Joe is a current and active member of the Northeast
Pennsylvania Professional Photographers Association.
Joe teaches and
lectures on image restoration, portrait retouching, digital
workflow, and photography to professional photographic groups and individuals in
Pennsylvania and New York. He has helped many
professional photographers make a smooth transition from film to digital. He also is
available to do One-On-One training in Digital Photography and can
get you up and running with Adobe Photoshop from the Basics to
Advanced professional Techniques in Digital Manipulation, Portrait Retouching,
Image Restoration, Workflow, and Maximizing Images for Impact.
Creating ART from photography by thinking beyond the image that was
captured is an area where his passion for the image creation process
can be seen. He can help you with all the above and also work with you over the Internet from the comfort of your
own home.
Joe's work has
appeared as cover art for a novel, can be found in many advertising publications
and brochures,
and appears in magazines including Greater Philadelphia
House and Home, Skateboarding, and Oprah Magazine.
He enjoys working with other photographers
and helping them to unlock the "mysteries" of capture,
processing, and taking an image to a higher level for maximum
impact.
