Workshop Frequently Asked Questions
1. Registration and General Information:
Thank you for your interest in Digital Imaging Workshops. Our workshops are intensive and provide a
hands-on photographic experience much greater than many workshops that last for a longer time.
Our focus is on having participants learn the proper techniques to improve their
photography by using proper image capture techniques, realize the different possibilities
a scene may offer, and to work up the image to convey a look or
mood. This is accomplished through field instruction and demonstrations, lectures,
Photoshop workup techniques and expanded critique sessions. Registration is
can be done from the "Workshops" link above.
Digital Imaging Workshops accepts payments through PayPal. A signed liability wavier is required to finalize your registration.
The liability waiver is a PDF (Adobe Acrobat) file that can be
downloaded and printed from the WORKSHOPS link main page. It must be printed, signed and returned
via US Mail to
Digital Imaging Workshops at least 30 days prior to the start of the
workshop to
avoid cancellation of your space.
2. Pricing:
All pricing for the workshops is in US Dollars. Some of the workshops are scheduled more than a year in advance.
Due to changes in cost for lodging, transportation, permits, etc., it is sometimes necessary to change the workshop fee.
Digital Imaging Workshops reserves the right to amend prices without prior written notice.
If price increases become necessary, we will contact you immediately.
Price increases of less than 10% will not be deemed sufficient grounds for a refund if the participant decides not to attend the workshop at the new price.
Our workshops are based and limited to a group size of eight to ten
participants to ensure adequate personal attention.
3. Payments:
Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
We can not hold a space in a workshop without a minimum $200 deposit.
At the time of registration you may make a $200 deposit or pay the full workshop fee in order to secure your spot in the workshop.
Any workshop fee balance must be paid no later than 45 days prior to the start of the workshop.
Failure to make the payment on time may jeopardize your place in the workshop.
We do not provide advance notice about payments that are coming due.
4. Refunds / Cancellations:
The following is an explanation of our
cancellation and refund policy.
All notifications of cancellation must be submitted in writing by e-mail or regular mail.
If a participant cancels their reservation up to 60 days prior to the
start of the workshop, a refund of the money
paid will be made minus an Administrative Fee of $100. If that position is taken by a person on the wait list, the Administrative
Fee will be refunded.
If a cancellation notice is submitted with less than 60 days before the workshop starts, all payments will be retained.
Digital Imaging Workshops can not guarantee or be held liable for weather or landscape conditions, hotel conditions, meal quality, airline delays, dietary requirements, medical care, etc.
5. Lodging:
Most Digital Imaging Workshops workshops do not include lodging in the workshop fee.
In those cases, each participant is responsible for making a lodging reservation and paying their bill.
Digital Imaging Workshops identifies a “Base” lodging location on its website for each workshop.
When participants are responsible for lodging, they may make their reservations at any lodging location within reasonable distance from the base location.
If the lodging is not at the base location, participants are responsible for being at the base location at the designated times.
When we can negotiate a reduced rate for lodging, that information
will be found in the "Details" area for the
workshop. When lodging is difficult to arrange with short notice, Digital Imaging Workshops
may make lodging reservations for all participants and include the lodging fee in the workshop fee.
Whenever lodging is included in the cost of the workshop, that information will be included in
that workshop's "Details" area.
6. Transportation:
Transportation is not included in any workshop fee unless otherwise specified.
All workshops involve some travel from our base location. Therefore, vehicles are considered part of your
equipment for some workshops.
We will make efforts to reduce rental expenses if we are contacted at least 30 days prior to the workshop.
We will carpool as much as possible during some workshops to reduce
the cost and our impact on the environment. Some workshops

location and back included in the workshop cost. More
information about transportation for a specific workshop will be
found on that workshop's "Details" page.
